Malta Gaming Authority and Alderney Gambling Control Commission Renew Partnership

Share

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has been renewed to 2024, marking the continuation of their cooperation.

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority have formally renewed their Memorandum of Understanding. The two regulatory organizations’ continued cooperation is strengthened by this collaboration agreement, which allows them to keep assisting one another with their regulatory initiatives.

Enhancing Crime Prevention and Consumer Protection

The agreement allows the MGA and AGCC to collaborate more effectively towards their shared objectives and represents their shared principles. By working together, the regulatory bodies want to improve consumer protection, fortify their efforts to prevent crime, and tackle gambling addiction, with a special emphasis on vulnerable populations.

The industry’s current emphasis on international cooperation among regulatory organizations is in line with the cooperation between MGA and AGCC. This strategy, which is supported by the UK Gambling Commission, places a strong emphasis on the necessity of working together to address issues including addiction, unlawful gaming, and crimes involving gambling.

The AGCC is eager to increase its footprint in the gaming industry. It was founded in 2000 as Alderney’s regulating authority. Even though Alderney is smaller than Malta and Curacao, its growth goals are in line with how the sector is changing.

Carl Brincat, CEO of MGA, expressed gratitude for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding, highlighting the joint commitment to overseeing a responsible and safe gaming environment. The executive director of the AGCC, Andrew Gellatly, repeated this idea and emphasized the advantages that regulators and the gaming sector share.

“The renewal of the MoU with the AGCC continues to reaffirm our shared commitment towards supervising a safe and responsible gaming ecosystem across the board,” stated Carl Brincat.

Andrew Gellatly expressed excitement about the continued collaboration, emphasizing that the MoU contributes to the benefit of players and stakeholders alike. “With this MOU, we look forward to continuing and strengthening our valued collaboration with the MGA, to the benefit of both players and stakeholders,” commented Andrew Gellatly.
