Premier League soccer club Aston Villa has secured a new sponsor, signing a two-year deal with Greek online sports betting company Betano for £20m ($25m) per season.

Betano will see its logo on the club’s new Adidas kit during the 2024-25 season. The new deal with Betano is double the amount of Aston Villa’s current shirt sponsor, Chinese online gaming company BK8.

Betano already has several betting sponsorships in soccer. It is also the first-ever betting partner for Euro 2024, but it comes at a time of debate around the role that gambling companies have on soccer.

Euro 2024 is taking place in June and July across ten German cities. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Betano was also FIFA’s first World Cup betting partner last year during the tournament in Qatar.
