Progress continues on the Grand Island Casino permanent facility. The $100 million project broke ground in November 2023 and continues to move swiftly with construction. There are around 150 construction workers on site. Most of the exterior is complete.

Grand Island Casino General Manager, Vince Fiala said weather has been their biggest challenge.

“When the building wasn’t enclosed, you know, or didn’t have the roof on and stuff, we got a lot of water down in the lower level and that had to be dried out before some of the cement can be poured,” said Fiala.

Fiala said other than losing a few days due to weather, everything has been going well.
