Betr Gains Sports Wagering Market Access In Three More States
Betr has secured market access for its online sportsbook product in three additional states, the company announced Tuesday. Betr’s sports betting app will eventually go live in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Kentucky.
The company will also launch an online casino product in Pennsylvania, gaining market access through a relationship with Cordish Gaming Group. Pennsylvania customers will be the first users in any state to access Betr’s iCasino product.
“We are very excited to partner with Betr on the launch of their first online casino,” said Cordish Gaming Group President Rob Norton. “Betr Casino will make a winning addition to the gaming options available to Pennsylvania players, which includes two of our own successful Live! Casino properties.”
Betr’s Colorado sports betting market access was secured through a partnership with Boulter Developments. The operator’s Kentucky sports betting market access comes through a relationship with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Currently, Betr sportsbook’s beta version is operational in Massachusetts, Ohio, and Virginia. The operator plans to leave Massachusetts in the near future, however, as it won’t renew its temporary sports betting license there, citing economics as a reason for the decision.
“We want to thank the [Massachusetts Gaming Commission] for their great partnership during our temporary license period in Massachusetts, and we hope to receive the honor and privilege of reentering this market at a later date,” Betr CEO Joey Levy said in a statement.
Betr has also applied for a mobile sports wagering license in Maryland and expects to have a phased launch throughout 2024 across its new market access states. Betr has market access in Indiana but has yet to go live there. The operator anticipates launching a full version of its sportsbook prior to the start of the 2024 NFL season, and it plans to be live in seven states by the end of the calendar year.
“The data we are seeing not only suggests that we are building a large and highly profitable real money gaming and media business, but that we are doing so by bringing new users into the category,” Levy said. “We plan on replicating this playbook for Betr Sportsbook and Betr Casino after releasing V1 of our Sportsbook later this year. By the end of 2024, we should see a further step change in our scale, while also having successfully laid the foundations of at least four distinct business units: Betr Fantasy, Betr Sportsbook, Betr Casino, and Betr Media.”
