Soccer manager Jürgen Klopp has just announced that he will step down from his role at Liverpool at the end of the season. He has already informed the club ownership of his wish to leave when the 2023/24 campaign comes to a close.

Confirming the decision to leave, Klopp admitted he can understand why it might come as a shock for a lot of people, given his love for the club, city, and its fans. However, he said he is “running out of energy,” adding: “I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”

Xabi Alonso -138

Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso is on top at odds of -138. The Spaniard is currently head coach for Bayer Leverkusen, with the team ranked first in the Bundesliga and hoping to secure their first-ever league title. Alonso played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2009, making him a favorite with fans.

Pep Lijnders +700

Next up is Pep Lijnders, who has for a long time been seen as the natural successor for Klopp. As assistant, he has served as Klopp’s right-hand man throughout his reign, but he has also implied he will leave in the summer to pursue his ambitions elsewhere. Roberto De Zerbi is third favorite at odds of +850. The Italian soccer coach is currently managing Brighton & Hove Albion where he is doing a sterling job. The team is now seventh in the EPL and their style of play has been complemented throughout the season. Their 38 goals so far this season have secured them the reputation of “the great entertainers.”
