

Macau July GGR Highest for 42 Months

Macau casino industry hit a 42-Month high following the report by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau showing a gross gaming revenues for July of MOP16.66 billion (US$2.07 billion).
Compared to June the figures show a rise of 9.6% and also was above the May revenue figures which were the best numbers since January 2020 which had a gross gaming revenue of MOP22.13 billion.
July 2023 was up a huge 4,082.9% on the same month in 2022, however CVOD restrictions were still in place and severely hampered any recovery then.
For the seven months of this year the total gross gaming revenue now stands at MOP96.80 billion which represents a rise of 263% on the same period in 2022.
Since January this year when the government cancelled all restrictions on COVID the industry has seen a rapid rise in revenues and visitor numbers, the hope now is that the upward trend will continue for the rest of the year.
